McMaster Innovation Park is a world class research park associated with McMaster University. Once an office and factory for Westinghouse, the Atrium @ MIP is its flagship building. The extensive renovations include enlarged windows, thermally improved envelope, new mechanical and electrical systems and the creation of a sun-filled atrium, intended to enhance the experience of academic collaboration and innovation. The building is the recipient of the 2009 City of Hamilton Urban Design and Architecture Award of Excellence for Overall Design & Adaptive Re-use.
